COMPANY HISTORY
The Beginning of the Dream
July 7, 2006 saw the doors open to the public for the first time under the name, True Blue
Coffee Roasters. Co-founders Rob Luzader and Rick Smith started roasting small amounts of
coffee, and selling it as a small business. With everything in place in the spring of 2007, True
the public got a chance to try the delicious coffees. But with time also comes change, the
partners decided to sell the business. It was important to them to find the right people that
would remain true to their products and customers. In April 2009 they found those people
and Louisiana Roasting Company was formed.
Patty Cramer has been in the coffee business for over 23 years. In 1999 she opened her
own office coffee service business in Shreveport, LA. But it was her life long dream to open
a roasting company. Through a mutual acquaintance Patty Cramer and Rick Smith met to
discuss the purchase of True Blue Coffee Roasters. The friendship was immediate, "I felt like
I new Patty all my life," stated Rick. It was a perfect transition for True Blue.
By Mar 2009, Rick arranged to have the equipment transported to Louisiana and taught the
new owners the basic mechanics of roasting coffee, and given a chance to hone their skills
before returning home to West Virginia.
On 23 March 2009 it was official, Louisiana Roasting Company was in business. Patty Cramer
and her business partner began roasting batch after batch of coffee. We learned so much
about each individual coffee and what it could produce. It was a rewarding experience to see
the finest and freshest coffee products produced by us!
The Future and Being a Different Kind of Company
With everything in place, Louisiana Roasting Company has hit the ground running. Sales
continue to increase as more and more of the public gets a chance to try our delicious
coffees. Our partnership with My Friends Office Coffee Service will expand our local customer
base and lead to bigger and better things for Louisiana Roasting Company
We realize the most important aspect of the business is the customers. We welcome
suggestions and comments. This isn’t a journey we are taking alone, it is one we are taking
with our customers, and we welcome them with open arms.”
